The truth is that Singapore’s weather wears me out most times but there are way too many quaint spots in this little red dot that I cannot bear to leave. Take this scene for example, that is located conveniently within Orchard Road and pairs up very nicely with my fringed and embroidered Alice McCall ziggy stardust romper. For everyone who has been asking, I got it from REVOLVE as I’ve noticed it’s unavailable anywhere else.

Moreover, REVOLVE is giving away 20% Off coupons from now till 6th March 2017 to celebrate their new free express shipping to Singapore. To receive the coupon, click here and share the sale by entering your friend’s email. The coupon code will then be sent directly to your inbox after registration (expires 13th March 2017). It’s that simple so start adding items to cart before all is snapped up!

When I first tried on this dress from Thurley, admittedly the first thing I noticed was how big and boxy I looked. The shoulder pads, although not even that exaggerated, made my frame look wide, and the looseness of it all made me feel like it worked better as a jacket. But I had loved the frayed edges too much to have it returned, and so I adjusted my posture, stood straighter and even got a tailor to try cinching the waist. It started to work, because it fitted just as well with a basic tee, a newsboy cap and some knee-high boots. And then when I took Mulberry’s Small New Bayswater into my arms, it delivered the unexpected, finishing touch.
Here I’m sporting the newly redesigned iconic bag in Dune by Mulberry’s Creative Director, Johnny Coca, that now comes in a sleeker, lighter size with a shoulder strap for hands-free versatility. It is easily smaller than the Bayswater with Strap but still roomy enough for a camera, an iPad and some random bits and bobs (e.g. portable charger, USB micro phone fan and whatnots). Really, you could say it functions perfectly as an everyday bag.

My favourite thing about lace is the inherent lightness of the fabric, and the idea that they can be humidity-proof – worn entirely on its own during fancy summer picnic days, and cleverly layered under velvet coats and substantial knee-high boots come winter. In Singapore, however, where the warmth can be an obstacle in trying to look glamorous, a pair of giant earrings and an extravagant headpiece should do the trick. And in times of desperation, I always turn to one of my favourite labels, For Love & Lemons, for the prettiest, sheerest dresses that can perk up any dull day.

Alternatively for a casual chic look, try a bowtie wrap choker and swap out the crown for a straw hat (I adore this Darling hat by Eugenia Kim) and you’re good to go!
