My favourite thing about lace is the inherent lightness of the fabric, and the idea that they can be humidity-proof – worn entirely on its own during fancy summer picnic days, and cleverly layered under velvet coats and substantial knee-high boots come winter. In Singapore, however, where the warmth can be an obstacle in trying to look glamorous, a pair of giant earrings and an extravagant headpiece should do the trick. And in times of desperation, I always turn to one of my favourite labels, For Love & Lemons, for the prettiest, sheerest dresses that can perk up any dull day.

Alternatively for a casual chic look, try a bowtie wrap choker and swap out the crown for a straw hat (I adore this Darling hat by Eugenia Kim) and you’re good to go!
