For me, the lotus flower is one of the most beautiful and boldest symbols in nature. It thrives in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable grace, never letting the dirt affect its growth or beauty. When in bloom, the lotus flower ultimately reflects purity, potential and honour. Here is a message of growth even in adversity. Like the lotus flower, we too have to first deal with the mud – life’s difficulties and sufferings – in order to grow and gain wisdom; to learn compassion and kindness.
